Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants

The JIW Sisterhood, a network for the women of Jews in Weed, organized by Liora Susswein and Shelby Poole.

What is the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants?

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants is the JIW Sisterhood, a network inside Jews in Weed for the women of the community. It grew out of the same idea that started everything else here: people in this industry do better when they have a place to find each other, talk honestly and show up for one another.

It is an apolitical space, meant to unite Jewish women in cannabis with love and unity, and it is taking shape now as a series of calls and gatherings of its own.

How did it start?

The Sisterhood held its first virtual meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, hosted by Liora Susswein and Betty Bloom. Women from across the community introduced themselves and their work, brainstormed ways to gather in person, and talked about how to support one another professionally in an often challenging industry.

Who is it for?

Women working across cannabis, from founders and operators to attorneys, marketers, investors and advocates. If you are part of the Jews in Weed community, or want to be, you are welcome. More on the call and event series is coming soon.
